Nicholas Stephen Tapazoglou, MD

Dr. Tapazoglou is a bariatric, robotic and minimally invasive surgeon. Beloved by his patients for his kind demeanor, dedication and thoughtful explanations, he makes every effort to perform surgeries in a minimally invasive fashion. His clinical interests include:

• Bariatric surgery
• Gallbladder surgeries
• Hernia repairs
• Small bowel surgeries

Affectionately called "Dr. T" by his patients, Dr. Tapazoglou has been practicing surgery in the mid-Atlantic region for more than a decade. He is excited to bring his expertise in and passion for bariatric surgery to the residents of northern Maryland.

Dr. Tapazoglou is an active member of both the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He attended Cornell University (Ithaca, New York), from which he graduated with honors in psychology and philosophy while also pursuing a pre-medical education. He earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his general surgery residency at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and an advanced laparoscopic, minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

In his free time, Dr. Tapazoglou enjoys spending time with his daughters, cooking and hiking.
