Dr. Bellavance is a surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the breast with a focus on oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patients, prophylactic mastectomy for high risk patients, and nipple sparing mastectomy.

Dr. Bellavance received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and went on to complete her general surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Following residency, she completed a 3 year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Chicago. In addition, she completed the fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the MacLean Center of Medical Ethics in Chicago, IL. She serves on several national committees including the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology Breast Prevention Team and the Ethics Committee.

Neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatment for breast cancer, communication and medical decision making in breast cancer treatment, ethical issues in breast surgery and surgical oncology
