Richards is a certified nurse-midwife and women's health nurse practitioner. She has worked in many facets of healthcare including clinical labs, IT nursing, and as a surgical ICU and labor and delivery nurse.
A native of Racine, Wisconsin, she graduated from Tennessee State University and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where she earned degrees in biology/chemistry and nursing, respectively.
Seeking to enhance her partnership with women, she completed her Master's of Nursing with a concentration in midwifery and women's health at Georgetown University. She has emerged as a health provider ready to facilitate the standards of midwifery practice and promote the standards of quality in women's health care.
"Midwifery is the perfect avenue for me to use current medical and nursing literature to care for women, deliver babies, and form genuine relationships. I believe in being a partner in a woman's individualized care, " she says.
"Giving women complete and accurate information to make informed health care decisions is my goal. I want the women I see to feel happy and supported with their experience."
In her free time, she loves participating in outdoor sports and activities, traveling and enjoying good food.
