Neurosurgery

Our neurosurgeons have the most advanced surgical training to treat patients who have a wide variety of brain, neck and spine conditions. They use the latest technology and minimally invasive surgical techniques to give patients the best outcomes.

Whether you have a chronic condition that affects your daily activities or a sudden illness that needs immediate treatment, let UM CMG – Neurology take care of you.

Our neurosurgeons specialize in treating:

  • Brain, spinal cord and pituitary tumors: our neurosurgeons are skilled at removing both benign and malignant (cancerous) tumors and will work with your oncologist to develop a long-term plan of care
  • Hydrocephalus: commonly called “water on the brain,” this condition is a build-up of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain that can put harmful pressure on the brain.
  • Degenerative spine disease: can include several age-related spinal disorders such as cervical spondylosis (deterioration of spinal discs in your neck), lumbar spondylosis (occurring in the lower spine) and spinal stenosis (pressure on the spinal cord and nerves of the neck and lower back.
  • Carotid artery disease: the narrowing of blood vessels in the neck that bring blood from the heart into the brain. Blockages of the carotid artery can lead to stroke, but can be improved with lifestyle medication and, if necessary, surgery.
