COVID-19: On the Front Line in the Emergency Department

With the unprecedented challenge for health care workers in every setting, the University of Maryland Medical System combined National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week observances this year and celebrated Health Care Heroes Week last week to honor its 28,000-member workforce.

Among those frontline workers facing daily challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic are the men and men who staff Emergency Departments across the 13-hospital medical system. On Monday, May 18, Amit Chandra, MD, of the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus, and Heather Brock, RN, of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, will discuss what it’s been like battling the coronavirus in their respective EDs.

If you have a question you'd like answered during the show, e-mail your question to livequestions@mpt.org.
