General Guidelines

Patients have the right to identify a family member, friend or other individual to be present with him/her for support during the course of their stay, unless the individual's presence infringes on others' rights and/or safety or is medically or therapeutically harmful.

Visitors must follow all established infection control policies as they relate to the patients they are visiting. The clinical staff are responsible for education of all visitors as it applies to infection prevention and hand hygiene. Visitors may not visit a patient if they have an illness or an infection that the clinical staff feels may pose a threat to the patient.

In the event of an infectious disease event, such as the flu, visiting hours may be restricted at the discretion of the Nurse Manager.

Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

General visiting hours are 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Quiet hours will be observed from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily to support healing and recovery for our patients.

No more than 2 visitors per room at any one time to avoid overcrowding of the bedside area.

Patient's significant other or family member/caregiver (1) may remain at patient bedside until 11:00 p.m. when clinical staff feels this is beneficial for the patient. Overnight accommodations of visitors should not be expected.
