UM Prince George’s Hospital Center’s evidence-based, protocol-driven, and systematic approach to cardiac patient care allows clinicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack. We have received the 2020 Mission: Lifeline® Silver Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. .
The hospital successfully monitors patients when it is not initially clear whether or not a patient is having a coronary event. Such monitoring ensures patients are neither sent home too early nor needlessly admitted.
