About the New Cancer Center

We have begun construction on a new regional cancer center to meet the needs of residents of Prince George's County and surrounding areas. The cancer center, attached to UM Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, will provide high-quality diagnostic, treatment and support services, with an initial focus on breast, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancer.

To reduce the cancer disease burden in our community, the cancer center will provide community members with greater access to cancer screenings, leading to earlier cancer detection and better outcomes for patients. Patients seeking cancer treatment will benefit from essential services for all their oncology needs in a location closer to home. The cancer center is expected to open in March 2024.
