University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) has appointed eight individuals to the hospital's Board of Directors and the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors.

Joining the UM BWMC Board of Directors for three-year terms are Frances B. Phillips, Robert J. Norton, and Chirag Chaudhari, MD. Phillips retired in 2020 as the deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and is a former health officer for Anne Arundel County; Norton is the president of Cordish Gaming Group where he leads the acquisition, planning development and operations of gaming projects, including Live! Casino Maryland; and Dr. Chaudhari, who has been at UM BWMC since 2004, is the Chair of the Emergency Department and President of the medical staff. Jeffrey Armiger, who has served on the board since 2020, was appointed as Board Chairman.

Appointed to three-year terms on the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors are Sharon Akers, President of the Edward St. John Foundation and Executive Director of Special Projects for St. John Properties; Taren Butcher, Assistant General Counsel to the Allegis Group, Inc.; LaToya Nkongolo, Owner of Work Life Behavioral Health and Professional Training; Amy Walker, Vice President of Synergy, LLC and Moke Wolfe, Administrative Vice President at M&T Bank.
