Interventional Pulmonology at UM BWMC
The interventional pulmonology team at UM BWMC uses minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat a range of lung and airway conditions. Pulmonary diseases we treat include:
- Tumors, masses and nodules
- Pleural effusion (fluid around the lungs) and other pleural diseases
- Mediastinal/hilar lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes in the chest)
- Non-resolving infiltrate/pneumonia

- Managing lung nodules including advanced bronchoscopy and other biopsy techniques
- Robotic-assisted bronchoscopy
- Endobronchial ultrasound
- Thoracentesis
- Tunneled pleural catheter placement
- Thoracoscopy with pleural biopsy and pleurodesis
- Longitudinal follow up
