Walter P. Carter Clinics

The Walter P. Carter Clinics are outpatient community mental health clinics that offer psychiatric treatment to Baltimore residents. The clinics serve children ages 5-18 and adults of all ages. The Walter P. Carter Clinics are part of the University of Maryland Medical System. The Walter P. Carter clinical staff works closely with University of Maryland providers in various disciplines and with community agencies to treat about 2,000 patients a year.

The clinics operate two full sites -- Carruthers Clinic and the Fayette St. Clinic

Getting to the Walter P. Carter/Carruthers Clinic

From I-95 (North or South), take the I-395 University of Maryland/Downtown Baltimore exit #53. Bear to the right and turn onto Conway Street. Stay in your right hand lane and make a right turn onto Light Street. Go one block on Light to Lee Street and make another right. Then make a left on Charles Street. The Carruthers Clinic is located on the fourth floor of University Specialty Hospital at 601 S. Charles St.

Getting to the Walter P. Carter/Fayette St. Clinic

From I-95 (North or South), take the I-395 University of Maryland/Downtown Baltimore exit #53. Take the exit to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Turn right on Baltimore St. Go 2 blocks and turn left onto Paca St. Go one block and turn left onto Fayete St. The Fayette St. Clinic is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Walter P Carter Center.
