North Arundel Hospital

North Arundel Hospital is an acute-care, community-based hospital that serves residents throughout Anne Arundel County. The hospital is part of the not-for-profit North Arundel Health System, which joined the University of Maryland Medical System in July 2000. North Arundel Hospital offers a wide variety of services. Its busy emergency department treats more than 77,000 patients each year. North Arundel expanded its emergency department in 1999 by adding on a new, state-of-the-art, 28,000 square-foot facility. A pediatrician is on-site at the emergency department 24 hours a day, seven days a week to accommodate the facility's large number of pediatric visits. The emergency department also houses a "fast track" area for children with minor injuries and illnesses, such as cuts, bruises and fevers.
